Hello Any and All Who May Be Following This Adventure!
Many of you have encouraged me to blog and journal during this trip to Congo. I will do my best.
I have been struck by several occurences over the past week. Not the least is the fact that I neglected to look closely at my ticket itinery. For instance, on Monday, Cindy noticed that there was a baggage alert indicating that I would have to pick up my bags in DC and recheck them. Next came the notice that, although leaving on Sunday, I will arrive on Tuesday. That triggered a quick email to Paul to alert Pastor Didier. Today as I went to check in online, I was surprized to learn my departure in at night, and not in the morning. Well the upside in all this is, I get an extra 12 hours with my Beloved, a couple in Sant Rosa will be able to get documents to me before I leave, and the airlines informed me that my baggage is actually checked all the way through to Congo.
As I have fallen into fretting each time, Our Lord brings someone along to remind me the He is handling all the details. As the word has gone out that I will be going, the Lord has given me wonderful opportunities to talk with folks I did not know, but now I do because they have asked me to take documents, things, to deliver to folks there. Already I am being blessed!
So in all this I have learned, when I said "Here I am Lord, use me"--I need to follow His leading!
