Wednesday, Aug 1

All the flights on this 30 hour journey were on time.  Even more convenient was that I never had to switch terminals to catch any connections.  Amazingly, both of my bags arrived on the same plane as me, and were still sealed.  Answered prayers.

I had some neat people on each flight sitting next to me.  From DC to Addis a gospel singer and his son,  heading home after being in the US visiting and singing at many churches; from Addis to Lillongwe interning doctors headed to St. Martins Hospital for 3 weeks, and no one (which allowed me to lie down for need sleep) to Lubumbashi.

Pastor Didier was waiting for me at Lubumbashi.  His big smile and warm hug made me feel like an old friend coming home.

He, Jim, and I enjoyed a meal that Pastor Didier’s wife prepared for us.  It was indeed a sweet time of fellowship and discussion.
